Managing equine distal limb wounds places considerable demands on horses, owners and veterinary teams. Our SpheruLUGOL™ bandage is being developed to help keep the dressing clean during use, with the goal of fewer dressing changes and less handling and disruption.

The technology is built into the bandage. Years of formulation and materials development bring together SpheruliTEK™ and the dressing fabric, with antimicrobial protection intended to act within the dressing itself.

The technology behind the bandage

SpheruliTEK™ creates a microscopic structure within a liquid formulation. This structure supports dispersed ingredients at rest and allows the formulation to flow under applied force. Each formulation is tailored to its intended application.

For our bandage, the formulation, fabric and packaging are developed together, with attention to how the formulation is taken up and retained by the dressing. Our expertise lies in making these elements work together in a practical product.

The bandage is the current lead application of our wider structured suspension platform.
